Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how UA Softwares (“we”, “us”) handles information in the Chatterly mobile application (“Chatterly”, the “App”). By using Chatterly you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Account information
- Email address and password — used to create and secure your account. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider (Supabase) and stored only in hashed form; we never see your plain-text password.
- Profile details you provide: display name, username, and (optionally) phone number.
- A user ID and display colour generated automatically for your account.
Content you create
- Messages you send in conversations, and the conversations and groups you are a member of.
- Call activity — when you place or receive a voice or video call, we process call metadata (participants, time, status) to connect the call. Voice and video streams are transmitted directly between participants (peer-to-peer) and are not recorded or stored by us.
Device permissions
- Camera and microphone — used only during voice/video calls you choose to start or answer. We do not access them at any other time.
How we use information
- To provide the core service: authenticate you, deliver your messages in real time, and connect your calls.
- To maintain your profile and let other users you chat with identify you.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
Optional Google Drive backup
Chatterly offers an optional feature to back up a copy of your own profile, chats, messages, and contacts to your personal Google Drive. If you choose to use it:
- We request access using Google’s
drive.filescope, which limits the App to only the files it creates in your Drive. Chatterly cannot see or touch any of your other Drive files. - The backup is stored in your Drive account, under your control. You can delete it at any time from Google Drive.
- Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Security
- All data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS for data and account traffic; encrypted DTLS-SRTP for call media).
- Your login session is stored on your device using the platform’s secure, encrypted storage.
- Database access is protected by row-level security so that users can only read conversations they belong to.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard measures.
Data retention
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, messages, and related data are removed as described below.
Account & data deletion
You can request deletion of your Chatterly account and associated data at any time:
- In the app: open your Profile and choose the account-deletion option (where available), or
- By email: send a request from your registered email address to support@ua-pos.store with the subject “Delete my account”.
Upon a verified request we delete your profile, your messages, your conversation memberships, and call records associated with your account. Requests are processed within 30 days. Any backup you created in your own Google Drive is under your control and can be deleted directly from Google Drive.
Children’s privacy
Chatterly is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Chatterly, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Chatterly.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Chatterly to: send unlawful, harassing, hateful, or infringing content; impersonate others; distribute malware or spam; attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service; or violate any applicable law. We may suspend or remove accounts that breach these Terms.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the messages and content you create. You are solely responsible for it. You grant us the limited rights needed to store and transmit your content to deliver the service.
6. Calls
Voice and video calls are transmitted between participants. You are responsible for your conduct during calls and for complying with laws regarding recording and consent.
7. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to comply with law.
8. Disclaimers
Chatterly is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UA Softwares will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
11. Changes
We may modify these Terms; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
